What is the governorate’s plan to develop the city of Matareya?
Great efforts were made by the state during the last period to develop the city of Matareya, the most prominent of which was the cleansing of Lake Manzala, removing all encroachments on it, and increasing the depth of the lake. The sewage system was also developed, and 3 ports will be established in the city during the coming period.
What are your priorities during the coming period?
My priorities are to provide a decent life for citizens, improve the level of cleanliness in all streets, deliver water to all villages, develop the sanitation system, provide goods, and monitor prices.
To what extent have you been satisfied with the performance of the executive bodies in the past period?
No one succeeds alone, and the tangible success on the ground is the result of the cooperation of all executive agencies and everyone making every effort to implement the development plan for the governorate.
How is the governorate working to develop the Dikernes-Tahiri road?
The governorate spent 250 million pounds to develop the Mansoura Al-Tahiri Road, and work is underway on the road and trenches are being made to cover the canal crossing the road.
What is your plan to confront random markets and will they be transferred?
We are preparing alternative places for all the random markets to move them, including the Tuesday market in the Sheikh Hassanein area, and we have already moved the car market.
Tell us about the most prominent projects that were implemented during the past period?
We have implemented many projects in cooperation with a number of international institutions, including building the capabilities of workers in the Integrated Solid Waste Management Unit at the Governorate General Office, consulting studies on the Kitchener Bank project, the project to establish a municipal waste recycling plant in the Belqas Center, the establishment of the fixed intermediate station in the Nabarouh Center, and the development of garages in the two Nabruh centers. And Belqas, closing and rehabilitating the random dump in Qalabsho, Belqas center, and purchasing waste collection and transport equipment.
How did the people of Dakahlia benefit from the Decent Life Initiative?
We have completed 98% of the projects of the first phase of the Decent Life Initiative in the governorate, which targeted 26 villages in the Sherbin Center at a total cost approaching 11 billion pounds, and the governorate comes in third place in terms of project implementation rates.
What is the strategy followed to develop Gamasa resort?
We have developed a number of proposed plans to develop the Gamasa resort, including raising the efficiency of the Gamasa beach, which would contribute to creating new investment opportunities and encouraging investors to implement promising projects on the beach, in addition to a proposal to establish a tourist resort on an area of 5 acres submitted by one of the investors. A proposal to establish a social club on an area of 25 acres was submitted by an investor, to exploit the plots offered as an investment opportunity.
The citizen is a partner in development.. What role should the people of the governorate play to complete the achievements?
I hope that the citizen will be positive and actively participate with the state, and if he sees any violation, he will report it immediately.
Dakahlia Governorate has many entertainment places. What is the plan to take care of it to make it appear civilized?
We are working to develop the zoo and Shajarat al-Durr Park, and we also aim to convert the park’s mall into a motel.
