A private source inside Al-Ahly Club revealed a behind-the-scenes argument Imam Ashour The team player with Mohamed El-Shenawy, the team captain, during the past few hours.
Imam Ashour missed participating in Al-Ahly’s match against its counterpart, Stade Abidjan, in the African Champions League, as he remained on the bench.
According to what the source said in statements to Cairo 24, Imam Ashour expressed his anger at not participating in the match that Al-Ahly played against Abidjan.
He added: El-Shenawy directed the conversation to Imam Ashour, saying: Why were you laughing in front of the audience in the stadium?
Imam Ashour responded to El-Shenawy: You will tell me whether I should laugh or not. I am not Bushin, and we are all players like each other. No one is a guardian over anyone. To which El-Shenawy responded: When I tell you about anything you hear and you do not like it, I complain to the sports director. Then Imam Ashour left the locker room. Ignoring El-Shenawy’s hadith.
The source concluded his speech by saying that Mohamed Ramadan, the sports director, took a decision to fine Emam Ashour one million pounds and exclude him from group training for a week, stipulating that the player apologize to El-Shenawy and his teammates to return to group training.
