Belarus’s GDP expands

According to what was published by the Belarusian News Agency, Belarus’s GDP will expand by 3.6% in 2024, and Belarus shares third place with Russia, which the International Monetary Fund expects to grow by 3.6% as well.

At the top of the list, Malta stands out with an economy that focuses heavily on services, including tourism and financial services, and Malta’s GDP growth is expected to reach 5%.

While Serbia’s economy also gained momentum in 2024, driven by services such as trade, tourism, restaurants and construction, its GDP may expand by 3.9%, according to the International Monetary Fund.

GDP growth in Poland and Lithuania is expected to be 3.0% and 2.4%, respectively.

The agency quoted International Monetary Fund data: European countries have faced major challenges recently, including a contraction in business activity and the euro reaching its lowest levels against the dollar since 2022. Despite these headwinds, some countries have shown strong economic growth in 2024.
