Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib said Minister of Investment and Foreign TradeAny investor who has a problem with any file or entity in Egypt must come to the Ministry of Investment in the first place.
The Minister of Investment added, in statements in a meeting with journalists today, Thursday, that the role of the Ministry of Investment is to solve the problems and challenges of investors in the Egyptian market, whether in the Suez Canal, the free zones, or anywhere in Egypt.
Overcoming all obstacles facing investors
The Minister of Investment added that the Ministry is working to overcome all obstacles facing investors to improve the business environment in Egypt.
The Minister of Investment explained that he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Suez Canal Economic Authority, and works with all government agencies to enhance the work climate in Egypt.
Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, added that the Ministry worked to improve the monetary policy situation for the private sector in Egypt, including the mutual tax, which represents 0.25% of sales, aimed at strengthening the role of comprehensive health insurance. This tax was talked about in the Council of Ministers so that it would be a net tax. Profit, not sales.
The Minister of Investment assumed the position of the ministry for about 150 days. He previously announced several incentives for investment in Egypt, and recently assumed leadership of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt after it was included in the ministry.
