The American University in Cairo Press will hold the 2024 Naguib Mahfouz Prizes for Literature distribution ceremony next Wednesday, at 6 pm, in the Ewart Hall at the American University in Cairo.
Announcing the winner of the Naguib Mahfouz Award from the American University
The short list includes several novels: The Sky Smokes Cigarettes by the novelist Wajdi Al-Ahdal – Hachette Antoine, The Glass Lady by the novelist Amr Adly, Al-Warraq: Abu Hayyan Al-Tawhid by the novelist Hisham Eid, My Name is Zaizoun by the novelist Sawsan Jamil Hassan, The Judge’s House by the novelist Mahmoud Adel Taha, A Muffler Microphone by the novelist Muhammad Al-Tarazi.
The novelist Naguib is the only Arab writer to have won the Nobel Prize in Literature. He has many novels, including Between Kasserine, Qasr Al-Shouq, Al-Sukkaria, Gossip over the Nile, Miramar, The Quail and the Autumn, Karnak, Radubis, The Abuse of Destinies, The Struggle of Thebes, and many other novels. .
