The UN Security Council will hold an emergency session of closed discussions on Monday afternoon on Syria after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad, according to what identical diplomatic sources told Agence France-Presse on Sunday.

The sources said that the meeting will be held at the request of Russia, starting at 15:00 (20:00 GMT).
