The new line will provide rapid access for products to all European cities, as it will take only two and a half days for the shipment to arrive between the ports of Damietta and Trieste, compared to about 6 days using traditional methods, which will enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian product in those markets in addition to contributing to providing direct and indirect job opportunities. The two sides discussed the discussions currently taking place between the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the Italian Railway Company to discuss the possibility of the company submitting an offer to manage and operate the high-speed electric train network in Egypt, as well as the discussions regarding the participation of the Salchev Company with the Airtrack Company, affiliated with the Egyptian Railways Authority, to establish a company specializing in railway renovations so that The new company is implementing the renewal of accumulated distances, which amount to about 2,000 kilometers, or the construction of new lines, in addition to cooperation with Mermek Company. For his part, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure stressed his happiness with the operation of the Egyptian-Italian RoRo line, which embodies the depth of relations between the two sides, stressing the interest in increasing the volume of cooperation with the Ministries of Transport and Industry in Egypt, especially with the great development that Egypt is witnessing in various fields, indicating that it is one of the plans. He will visit Egypt in the first quarter of 2025 to continue discussing common cooperation topics between the two sides.
