On Monday, the American Time magazine revealed the nominees for Person of the Year 2024, which are scheduled to be announced on Thursday.
Among the most prominent figures, the magazine published pictures of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President-elect Donald Trump, as well as Kamala Harris, US Vice President Joe Biden, and US billionaire Elon Musk.
According to the magazine, since 1927, Time magazine has selected a person, group or concept that has had the greatest impact – whether positive or negative – on the world during the previous 12 months.
In 2023, Time magazine chose pop star Taylor Swift as Person of the Year. Other previous selections include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Spirit of Ukraine in 2022, tech giant Elon Musk in 2021, Ebola fighters in 2014, and former US President Barack Obama in Years 2012 and 2008.
This morning, ten nominees were revealed on NBC’s Today program and are under consideration for Time’s annual title. Below is the list of finalists, arranged alphabetically by last name.
