Al-Sisi reviews the new system of building controls and requirements

Cairo – Live: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was briefed on the new system of building controls and requirements, as well as the executive position for establishing Bedouin communities in Sinai.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, President Sisi directed that this system be the beginning of a new era of controlled urban expansion on scientific construction principles to reorganize the construction process and end the existing state of randomness, stressing the importance of the participation of all competent executive authorities to implement the system on the ground.

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s meeting today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Sherif Ismail, Assistant to the President for National and Strategic Projects, Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, Mohamed Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, Mohamed Shawqi, Head of the National Agency for the Development of the Sinai Peninsula, and Ahmed Ismail, Assistant Head of Engineering for Sinai Development Projects, Ihab Obaid, head of the licensing unit at the Engineering Authority.

Bassam Rady, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the meeting dealt with following up on the new building controls and requirements at the republic level, as well as the executive position on establishing Bedouin communities in Sinai.

He stated that President Sisi was also briefed on the efforts to formulate the new integrated system of planning and building controls and requirements, and the regulatory and executive procedures that will follow regarding the issuance of building permits, and what has been done in this context with the aim of governing the construction system in Egypt within a clear framework characterized by planning and organization in accordance with the correct law and engineering codes. .

President Sisi also directed that this system be the beginning of a new era of controlled urban expansion on scientific construction principles to reorganize the building process and end the existing state of randomness, stressing the importance of the participation of all competent executive authorities to implement the system on the ground.

Regarding the state’s strategy for the comprehensive development of Sinai; President Sisi reviewed the executive position for establishing integrated Bedouin communities in North and South Sinai, including the total number of communities, their areas, the proposed population distribution, the cost of construction, financing sources, and the provision of irrigation water for agriculture and various productive activities, where the results of the community dialogue that took place in this regard were presented. With the people and citizens in North and South Sinai to determine their requirements and needs, so that the focus is on development activities that suit each community according to the geographical distribution and comparative advantages it enjoys.

He pointed out that President Sisi directed, in this context, to immediately begin implementing the Bedouin communities project to support the people of the Sinai Peninsula in all aspects, by providing the best community services, providing the necessary infrastructure, water resources, and integrated administrative buildings, as well as appointing a responsible administrative structure in all areas. A gathering, in addition to formulating the production system for each Bedouin community according to the results of the opinion poll and according to the actual needs of the population, within the framework of the state’s strategy for the comprehensive development of Sinai.

In connection with the comprehensive development of Sinai; President Sisi also reviewed the progress of work in supplying water to development communities in central and northern Sinai, and cultivating about 500,000 acres by transferring water from the Bahr al-Baqar drain to the lands targeted for cultivation.
President Sisi followed up on the executive steps taken by all concerned authorities, directing His Excellency to ensure that these gatherings have full staff and services, while providing them with administrative entities for government service agencies to facilitate dealing with citizens.
