Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, delivered a speech during Al-Nasr Automotive Company’s celebration of starting production again after a hiatus that lasted more than 15 years, at the beginning of which he welcomed the attendees in one of the national industrial castles. It is Al-Nasr Automotive Company, considering that this day represents a holiday, as everyone dreamed that this industrial castle would return to life again, and so the government has sought every means over the past years to revive this castle, through serious and persistent attempts, due to its strong structure. The Prime Minister pointed out that the state has made every effort to revive this important industrial castle, while ensuring the sustainability of the work of this castle so that it is not threatened with stopping again, by arriving at an efficient operating system based on the true revival of this industry, with full awareness of the importance of Partnership with the private sector in such major projects, because it has a greater ability to identify the real needs of the local or global market, and implement highly efficient systems in operation and management, while achieving profitability, adding that, therefore, the government was keen, in order to ensure the sustainability of the return of Al-Nasr Automotive Company, to There will be a group of partnerships with international institutions through which you can ensure efficient and effective operation, read the needs of the local and international market, and business sustainability.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the capabilities that Al-Nasr Automotive Company has now enable it to establish a complete industry in this geographical area without the need to establish its factories in other regions, pointing out that this step is parallel to the state’s endeavor to expand in the automotive industry sector, from the standpoint of The conviction that Egypt has a very great opportunity to launch in this sector during the coming period, referring to what the CEO of the company mentioned in his speech today, that a decision was made to liquidate this company in 2009, pointing out that this time witnessed countries in Africa taking their first steps. In this industry, today, although not long ago, it produces more than half a million cars per year, with future plans to reach one million cars per year.
The Prime Minister stressed that Egypt’s potential is no less than that of these countries, but on the contrary, it enables it to achieve more than these numbers, as the needs of the Egyptian local market alone reach nearly half a million cars annually, of all types of vehicles, and thus it will It will increase until 2030 with the increase in population and economic growth that the state pursues and proceeds with.
In this regard, the Prime Minister stressed that the return of Al-Nasr Automotive Company was a strategic decision for the state, as the state did not neglect its industrial castles at all, but rather aims to optimally exploit the assets it owns, stressing that the “state ownership policy document” does not mean selling state assets. On the contrary, maximizing the benefit and exploitation of the state’s assets, considering that an important aspect of the state’s work in this regard is seeking to enter into partnerships with an efficient private sector in managing and operating these assets, and Al-Nasr Automotive Company is a living example of that.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly pointed out that today, on the sidelines of the celebration, he spoke with the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and the relevant ministers about how to deepen the local component and increase its percentage in the buses that are being launched today from 50% to 70%, stressing that we have all the ingredients.
