The Israeli government, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, canceled the visit of Dutch Foreign Minister Kasper Veldkamp, which was scheduled to Tel Aviv in the coming weeks.
Israeli media explained that the decision to cancel the visit of the Dutch Foreign Minister came after the memorandum issued by the International Criminal Court against Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, accusing them of committing crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Arrest warrant against Netanyahu
Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced his country’s readiness to implement the International Criminal Court order against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Galant for committing war crimes in Gaza.
The court said it had reasonable grounds to charge Netanyahu and Gallant with war crimes, noting that Israel’s recognition of the court’s jurisdiction is not required to implement arrest warrants.
The International Criminal Court stated that there are logical reasons to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant supervised the killing of civilians.
She stressed that the arrest orders against Netanyahu and Gallant do justice to the victims in Gaza and their families, explaining that they used the weapon of starvation as a tool of war in Gaza.
