Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, met with a delegation from IGSAS, the leading Turkish company in the field of fertilizer production, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in this vital sector.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly, Chairman of the African Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Chemical Industries Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, accountant Imad El-Din Mostafa, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, and Mohamed Hassouna, advisor to the Minister.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of ways of cooperation between companies affiliated with the Ministry working in the fertilizer industry and the Turkish company IGSAS in the fields of fertilizer production, developing the technology used in this sector and raising production capabilities.
Engineer Muhammad Shimi confirmed that the Ministry is currently implementing a comprehensive plan to modernize and develop the production lines of the affiliated fertilizer companies while enhancing the use of clean energy with the aim of improving efficiency and increasing productivity, in a way that contributes to raising the quality of the product, meeting the needs of the local market and expanding exports, within the framework of the great interest that His assumption of this vital sector and its important role in supporting food security.
The Minister explained the importance of international partnerships in developing the fertilizer industry, and that the Ministry seeks to expand cooperation with leading international companies in this field, in a way that enhances the sustainability and quality of production, pointing to the role of modern technology in improving production efficiency, reducing emissions, and achieving environmental compatibility.
For its part, the Turkish IGSAS delegation gave a presentation about the company, the size of its business, and the production capacities of ammonia, urea, compound fertilizers, and others. The company’s representatives expressed interest in cooperating with the fertilizer companies affiliated with the Ministry to modernize production lines and raise production capabilities.
