The Katameya – Ain Sokhna road witnessed an accident in which a transport vehicle with a trailer carrying two containers caught fire after it overturned, resulting in the vehicle driver sustaining various injuries, and the accident caused a partial closure of the road before it was reopened and traffic was facilitated.
The security services in Suez received a report of a truck overturning on the Katameya – Ain Sokhna road towards the June 30 axis.
Immediately, Major General Hossam El-Din Ahmed Al-Dah, Director of Suez Security, directed traffic police to move to the site of the accident, and the relevant agencies sent fire engines after the fire caught fire in the transport vehicle, the trailer and two containers on it.
Traffic officers prepared a technical report on the accident, and the investigation authorities were informed.
Eyewitnesses told Cairo 24 that the Ain Sokhna-Kattameya road was partially closed due to the accident before it was fully opened after the flames were brought under control.
Eyewitnesses explained that the driver of the transport vehicle suffered various injuries, but he refused to be transported to the Suez Medical Complex to receive treatment.
A security source confirmed to Cairo 24 that traffic on the road resumed after the accident was brought under control.
