Also, the Minister spoke about the company’s future plans in the field of research and exploration, and the developments in negotiations between the company and EGAS to obtain a new exploration area in the Mediterranean to increase production rates, and all of this will contribute to maximizing the benefit from the petroleum wealth that Egypt possesses.
In addition to this, the position of placing the first well in North Cleopatra and North Marina on the production map in 2024/2025 has been discussed, and the evaluation of the Red Sea areas has also been completed and a drilling plan in these areas has been drawn up, which will happen very soon.
Also, the Minister of Petroleum met with officials from Carlyle International, and discussed the company’s plans to invest in Egypt and expand in the field of exploration and field development, especially in the wake of the recently concluded agreement for Carlyle to acquire a portfolio of natural gas exploration and production investments in the Eastern Mediterranean region in Italy. These investment assets include the Abu Qir field, one of the natural gas production areas in Egypt.
However, this meeting was aimed at accelerating the pace of production by presenting a package of investment incentives for research, exploration and production companies, and the company’s global vision to expand its activities in Egypt.
Not only that, the minister also visited BP’s headquarters in Sunbury, London, and inspected the remote drilling service center, and indeed the latest drilling technologies and the company’s future plans for its business in Egypt were reviewed.
