Al-Menoufi added in a statement that the merchant is the direct link with consumers, and that he always faces questions from them about the reasons and times for the increase in prices.
Al-Menoufy stressed the importance of transparency in announcing any price increases, stressing the need for consumers to be informed – clearly and in advance – of the reason for this increase by the producing companies, so that they have a complete understanding of the reasons behind it.
He explained that providing this information enhances consumer confidence in the market and prevents any kind of confusion or exploitation from occurring.
Writing the selling price to the consumer on the products
Menoufy again called for the selling price to be written to the consumer on the products by the producer on all products, especially strategic goods.
Al-Menoufi explained that the Ain Association for Merchant and Consumer Protection continues its efforts to protect the rights of both parties, by promoting a culture of transparency and regulating the relationship between merchants and consumers in a way that achieves everyone’s interest.
