The price of a gram of 21 carat gold rose by about 8 pounds at the beginning of trading.
The prices of the yellow metal in Egypt are affected by three main elements: the global market, the movement of supply and demand, and the exchange rate of the Egyptian pound against the US dollar.

The price of 24 karat gold recorded: 4339 pounds to buy, and 4321 pounds to sell.
The price of 21 karat gold recorded: 3797 pounds to buy, and 3781 pounds to sell.
The price of 18 karat gold recorded: 3254 pounds to buy, and 3241 pounds to sell.
The price of 12 karat gold recorded: 2170 pounds to buy, and 2160 pounds to sell.
As for the gold pound, it recorded: 30,376 pounds for purchase, and 30,248 pounds for sale.
Gold prices globally today
At the global level, global gold prices recorded about $2,656 per ounce in the last trading, a decline of 0.91% within a day.
Gold prices globally had exceeded a record level of $2,600 per ounce before the US Federal Reserve began cutting interest rates on September 18, 2024, for the first time since the beginning of the monetary tightening policy in March 2022.
As the US presidential elections approached, gold prices rose to a new historical level of $2,700 per ounce, before beginning a series of declines after the announcement of the result and the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The average price of the dollar against the Egyptian pound in the banking market today is about 50.18 pounds for purchase and 50.28 pounds for sale, according to Central Bank data.
