South Korean President Yoon Suk-yul survived a vote in Parliament on Saturday to impeach him, after his brief attempt to impose martial law.

Yoon shocked the Korean nation on Tuesday evening when he granted the military sweeping emergency powers to eliminate what he called “anti-state forces,” then rescinded the order six hours later, after parliament defied military and police restrictions to vote unanimously against the decree.
