The wealth of billionaires around the world increased by $2 trillion in 2024, an increase of about 17% to reach $14 trillion, according to the World Wealth Report issued by UBS.
The number of billionaires increased to 2,682 people from 2,544 a year ago.
In the United States, the number of billionaires jumped to 835 from 751, led by industry and technology moguls.
In China, the number of billionaires decreased to 427 from 520, and their wealth fell to 1.4 trillion dollars from 1.8 trillion.
