Informed sources said that the Central Bank of Egypt paid all external obligations during the year 2024 and did not request the postponement of any installment of the debt that must be paid.
The sources added that there is also a plan to pay all external obligations during 2025, and no postponement of any obligation will be requested.
It should be noted that the latest figures from the Central Bank of Egypt indicate that the value of installments and debt interest due to Egypt during the year 2025 amounts to about 22.4 billion dollars.
In the last fiscal year, Egypt paid about $32.9 billion in foreign obligations. In the current fiscal year, Egypt paid about $33.4 billion, and in the next fiscal year, about $22.4 billion will be paid.
