Cairo – Live: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to follow up on procedures for developing the new city of Ismailia and establishing a body to manage and operate it.
Madbouly said in a statement issued today, Sunday, that this meeting comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, on the necessity of working to speed up the development of the new city of Ismailia, and what this includes offering the lands and residential units in it to those wishing to reside in this city and invest in it, provided that This is done in agreement and cooperation between the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and the Armed Forces Land Projects Authority.
This came during a meeting via video conference technology, with Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and in the presence of Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and officials of the Ministry of Defense, at the Council of Ministers headquarters.
The Prime Minister was tasked with quickly reaching a final version of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Housing and the Armed Forces Land Projects Authority regarding the new city of Ismailia, in preparation for presenting it to the President of the Republic, pointing out the need for it to include the establishment of an agency for the city whose mission is to manage and operate it, as happens in cities. The new ones being established at the republic level.
Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, said that the main components of the new Ismailia city were reviewed during the meeting.
Saad explained that the city is being built on an area of 2,828 acres, and the first phase includes the construction of 2,010 buildings and 370 villas, with a total of 32,854 housing units, divided into five neighborhoods, in addition to the service areas in each neighborhood, and the schools, health centers, commercial centers, and clubs it includes. Sports and social facilities, in addition to mosques, churches, the police complex, and other vital facilities that serve the city’s residents.
He stated that the presentation included reference to the implementation rates for each neighborhood, and models of residential units and villas that were established in the city were also reviewed, as well as a review of the executive position of its service areas.
For his part, Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, indicated that, given the distinguished location of New Ismailia City, a contract was made to purchase a number of residential units in the city, to be used as administrative housing for workers, and to own another part for them, in addition to allocating a part of those units. As administrative units, reviewing proposals for repositioning companies affiliated with the Suez Canal Authority in the eastern region of the canal.
