Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting this morning, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to review a proposal submitted by one of the Egyptian-French alliances, the Hassan Allam Alliance – Paris Airports Group (ADP). To cooperate with the government in operating and managing airports within the government proposal program.
Madbouly: The French company has important accumulated experience in managing airports globally
The meeting was attended by Pilot Sameh El-Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation, Engineer Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Group, Engineer Ayman Arab, President of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Major General Wael El-Nashar, President of the Egyptian Airports Company, and Javier Horstel, Executive Vice President of “Paris Airports Group”.
The Prime Minister began the meeting by indicating his welcome to receive officials from the Paris Airports Group at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, noting that the company is one of the most prominent companies working in the management and operation of airports in many countries around the world, with its important accumulated experience in this field.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his welcome for cooperation with the French group in the field of airport management and operation, in light of the government’s current interest in offering airports for management and operation to the private sector, within the government proposal program that is being implemented in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation.
The Prime Minister added: I look forward to the Paris Airports Group being one of the companies that will compete for offers from the various Egyptian airport proposal programs during the coming period.
In turn, the Minister of Civil Aviation pointed to the important role of the Paris Airports Group, as an important international player in the management and operation of airports around the world, explaining that the company had cooperated with the Egyptian government during a previous period in the airport sector.
Pilot Sameh Al-Hafni said: We are open to various forms of partnership with the French group in the field of airport management and operation, especially in light of the accelerated efforts made by the government to finalize the plan to offer airports within the government proposal program in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation.
In response to the request of the Egyptian-French alliance to hold workshops with officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation during the coming period to discuss the plan to launch airports in more detail, the minister confirmed that he welcomes holding these workshops in the near future, which will allow both sides to clearly hear their visions regarding the possibility of any potential partnership. And the progress of consultations on the airport proposal plan.
In turn, Engineer Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Group, said that the Hassan Allam-DBA alliance has a desire to cooperate with the government in the field of airports, in a way that contributes to achieving the government’s goals regarding increasing the capacity of airports and facilitating the movement of arrivals, travel, and goods.
Meanwhile, Javier Horstel, Executive Vice President of the Paris Airports Group, said that the DBE Group is one of the leading entities in the field of airport management, and seeks to establish long-term partnerships with governments and aviation sector operators around the world.
He explained that the French group received about 336.5 million passengers during 2023 at the airports that it manages and operates around the world.
He added that the company has partnerships with 26 airports in 18 countries around the world, and that the company also had a presence in Egypt through its work as an operator of a number of airports during the 2000s.
He added: We intend to work on modernizing airports in line with international standards and contribute to improving the quality of services provided to travelers and achieving their satisfaction, and in a way that also supports airlines and cargo operators, as well as helping to increase airport revenues.
