She declared Ministry of Health and PopulationProviding medical services to 575,302 patients in outpatient clinics and fever hospital departments nationwide, in addition to 154,718 patients in emergency and reception departments, during the period from the beginning of July until the end of September 2024.
Health: Providing medical services to 575,000 patients in fever departments and hospitals within 3 months
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that 19,682 cases were cured and discharged after receiving treatment in fever hospitals and fever departments nationwide. Among them, 15,942 patients were treated in inpatient departments, and 4,535 patients were treated in intermediate and intensive care departments.
Abdel Ghaffar indicated that 2,941 cases were examined via remote diagnostic technology in 12 hospitals, namely: Assiut, Ismailia, Damanhour, Menouf, Alexandria, Mahalla, Mansoura, Desouk, Shebin El-Kom, Kafr El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Banha. He stressed that the goal of using remote diagnosis technology is to enhance the use of technology to improve the quality of health care services provided to citizens.
For his part, Dr. Peter Wagih, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, explained that the establishment of a physical therapy unit at the Mahalla Fever Hospital has begun to improve the quality of treatment for patients. Two new dialysis machines were also added to the Toukh Fever Hospital, in preparation for operating the dialysis service in the intensive care unit, which contributes to providing integrated health care.
Wagih added that the Desouk Fever Hospital in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate was provided with two additional intensive care beds, in addition to the opening of 30 new beds for pediatric care in the Abbasiya Fever Hospital, in order to expand the range of therapeutic services provided.
Monitoring and governance efforts
In turn, Dr. Mohamed Zidan, Head of the Central Administration for Therapeutic Medicine, confirmed that the General Administration of Fever Hospitals organized comprehensive field visits to a number of fever hospitals in different governorates, including: Qena, Fayoum, Damietta, Mahalla, Alexandria, Banha, Sohag, and Gerga. Governance teams participated in these visits to ensure effective workflow and address any negatives that may affect the quality of medical services.
The Ministry of Health confirms its continued efforts to develop and improve the quality of health care in fever hospitals, while ensuring the best results for patients by applying the highest standards of quality and innovation in providing health care services.
