Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities, stressed the necessity of preserving the state’s resources and vital facilities, directing campaigns to be launched on illegal water connections and the collection of debts in the new cities of Noubaria and Salhiya.
In this context, Engineer Ashraf Al-Samaliji, head of the New Nubaria City Development Authority, said that the committee responsible for examining meters and connections launched a campaign that resulted in the seizure of 5 water connections to residential plots of land that consume water without a meter. It was also found that there is a commercial mall containing two random meters without official data. This is in the second and distinguished residential neighborhoods.
He added that the committee took the necessary measures to cut off the violating connections and confiscate the unregistered meters, and began taking legal measures against the violators to ensure the protection of the water resource and the strict application of the law.
In a related context, the Agriculture Department of the Nubaria City Authority launched an expanded campaign to raise the efficiency of green areas in social housing areas and clean them, within the framework of preserving the aesthetic appearance and providing a healthy environment for residents.
The campaign included landscaping, cleaning, and increasing the green area, which reflects the agency’s commitment to developing and improving public facilities, as the administration coordinated the green islands at the entrance to the city, which contributes to highlighting the beauty of the entrance and providing a civilized view that reflects the continuous development of the city.
Engineer Khaled Shaheen, head of the New Salhiya City Authority, followed up on the work of the inspection committee responsible for detecting illegal connections to the water network, as part of the efforts of the New Salhiya City Development Authority to preserve the city’s resources and ensure the distribution of services in a fair and regular manner.
Engineer Khaled Shaheen stressed the importance of the committee’s role in controlling illegal connections that may affect the efficiency of the public network and lead to wastage of water resources.
He also explained that the agency follows a strict policy to confront violations, calling on all citizens to adhere to the laws to avoid legal measures that may be taken against violators.
Shaheen stressed that these efforts aim to ensure the sustainability of water resources and enhance the quality of services provided to the city’s residents.
