The passive exhibition aims to showcase imported production requirements for local production and provide hard currency

The Ministry of Industry announced that it invites all local manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the passive exhibition, which includes an offer to manufacture production supplies that are not produced locally to meet the needs of the local market in various industries and reduce imports. It is scheduled to be held in the Ministry’s pavilion at the annual International Exhibition for Industries (IMCE) in its third edition, which is organized by the Federation of Egyptian Industries. The event will start tomorrow and continue until November 27 at the Al Manara International Conference and Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement.

This comes within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to advance the industrial sector in Egypt and transform Egypt into a regional industrial center, work to localize various industries in Egypt, and take serious steps to provide and manufacture production requirements locally in cooperation with the private sector.

Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, confirmed that the aim of this negative exhibition is for the Ministry to review the production requirements that are not produced locally and are imported from abroad, in the presence of local manufacturers and suppliers for the purpose of coordination and cooperation between them so that they are produced locally to save hard currency. And meeting the needs of the local market and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian products to become able to compete against foreign products, especially with some manufacturers importing supplies and spare parts due to their lack of knowledge of the existence of a local supplier who can manufacture these supplies with the same quality and specifications as the imported ones.

He pointed out that the exhibition will also include the most imported spare parts within the scope of ministries and government agencies, so that local suppliers can study the possibility of manufacturing them locally instead of importing them.
