An upcoming decision to appoint Sabreen Gaber as President of Luxor University

Official sources revealed to Cairo 24 an expected republican decision to appoint Dr. Sabreen Jaber Abdel Galil was appointed President of Luxor University, as the first woman to head a public university by presidential decree for a period of four years, during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Earlier, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued a decision appointing Dr. Sabreen Abdel Jalil as acting President of Luxor University, succeeding Dr. Hamdy Mohamed Hussein, who has reached the legal age.

Dr. Sabreen held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Luxor University from 2019 until now, and the position of Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at Luxor University from 2019 to 2022, and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at South Valley University, Luxor Branch, from 2017 to 2019.

Sabreen worked as a professor in the Department of Tourism Studies at the college, a doctorate professor in tourism management in 2015, a visiting professor at the College of Tourism and Hotel Management at the University of South Carolina in the United States of America, and a visiting lecturer at the College of Management at the University of Wales in Britain. She obtained a doctorate of philosophy in tourism studies and tourism marketing at Helwan University in 2004. He holds a Master’s degree in tourism studies from Helwan University in 2002, and a Bachelor’s degree in tourism from Helwan University in 1997.

Dr. Sabreen has been the rapporteur of the National Council for Women branch in Luxor from 2021 until now.
