The Sheikh Zayed Court of Appeal ruled to accept the appeal submitted by an Uber driver against the one-year prison sentence issued against him, and acquitted him of the charge of harassing the artist Hala Al-Saeed at the top of the Dabaa axis in Giza Governorate.

For its part, the security services arrested the Uber driver accused of harassing the artist, Hala Al-Saeed, and brought him before the competent investigation authorities, and after hearing his statements, decided to release him pending the case, on a financial bail of 2,000 pounds.

The artist Hala Al-Saeed said during the investigations: This happened on 5/22/2024, around 11:30 am, on the Dabaa axis, after he took me from my house in Sodic in Beverly Hills. At that time, I was going for a ride, and that’s why I ordered a car from Uber. There was no one with me, and I was alone with him when I took the car to take me to my city, and I asked him for an Uber, and then he agreed to the trip. The car is BYD, its color shows me its number is 457, and what I knew is that the driver’s name is Mustafa, and as I said, I chose him randomly from Uber and rode with him of my own free will and I did not know that what happened would happen, and the first time I rode the car with him from my house, he did not talk to me at all, and he generally remained aware. Anything strange until we went to the Dabaa axis, and after about seven minutes, I found him calming down and he went to park on the side, and then he told me that the car was faulty and I was going to go down to see the fault, because the pump had overheated.

When the first trial session of the accused driver was held, his defense requested the acquittal of his client, before the Sheikh Zayed Misdemeanor Court ruled to punish the Uber driver, with imprisonment for a year and a financial bail of 1,000 pounds.
