The value of financial leasing contracts increased by 9.1% during the period from January to August 2024, reaching 72.250 billion pounds, compared to 66.203 billion pounds in the same period in 2023.
The Financial Supervision Authority report showed a decrease in the number of contracts by 12.9% to 1,105 thousand contracts, compared to 1,269 thousand contracts in the same period last year.
Real estate and land accounted for 76.31% of the contracts, followed by transportation vehicles at 7.22%, then machinery and equipment at 4.34%.
In August, the value of contracts fell by 9.7% to 7.964 billion pounds, compared to 8.819 billion pounds in the same month of the previous year.
The number of contracts decreased by 13.8% to 137 contracts, compared to 159 contracts in August 2023.
