The President of Alexandria University also decided, in his statement, to postpone tomorrow’s exams for students who have exams on another date, due to the unstable weather conditions and heavy thunderstorms that the governorate is witnessing and will continue during the coming hours, according to meteorology.
Completion of repairs on the ceiling of the lecture hall at Alexandria University
In another context, Alexandria University announced, yesterday evening, Monday, the completion of maintenance work in one of the lecture halls, which witnessed the fall of part of its ceiling this morning.
The university administration explained in an official statement that the maintenance work included removing all damage and changing the false ceiling tiles, stressing that the safety of students is its top priority, stressing that the accident did not result in any human casualties, but it sparked a state of panic among the students.
It is noteworthy that the accident occurred at exactly 10:30 in the morning, as the heavy rains that fell on the city caused the rainwater drainage drains on the metal roof of the halls to become clogged, which led to water seeping into the false ceiling, saturating parts of it and falling into the hall.
