The American Ambassador expressed her happiness at visiting Luxor Governorate, wishing for more cooperation in various fields and the exchange of experiences between the two sides, especially in the field of tourism, antiquities, and various fields of development, noting that cooperation with Luxor Governorate began in 2008 in implementing a number of important projects.
American Corner in the Egypt Public Library
The American Ambassador expressed her desire to allocate a place in the Egyptian Public Library to be used under the name of the American Corner, with the aim of promoting cultural exchange.
The Governor of Luxor explained that the matter will be studied with more attention. He appreciated the continued efforts of the American Agency for development programs in the governorate, praising the joint cooperation projects aimed at developing archaeological sites and the Al-Jeddawi Agency in Esna, expressing his aspiration towards more cooperation during the coming period, especially since the development of the Esna city’s Corniche, the tourist promenade, and the area surrounding the Temple of Esna will begin. Esna.
The Governor of Luxor referred to a number of projects that the United States Agency for International Development funded and implemented, including the new drinking water station project in the village of Al-Hanadi, east of Esna, pointing out that the station operates with a capacity of 17 thousand cubic meters / day, and is equipped with a 23 km long transmission line, connecting 10 villages. It is fed through the station, benefiting about 130,000 people.
The Governor of Luxor reviewed a number of the governorate’s projects, especially infrastructure and agricultural projects, and the provision of the best services to citizens in various fields.
The Governor of Luxor stressed that one of his most important priorities during the current period is to complete the delivery of the sewage system to the villages and hamlets of the governorate, expressing his desire to enhance cooperation in the field of agriculture by organizing training courses for farmers to raise the efficiency of agricultural land and increase the yield.
The USAID mission director stressed the agency’s interest in effective cooperation with the governorate in various sectors, noting that Luxor is one of the promising governorates as a tourist and archaeological governorate.
The visit of the American ambassador to Cairo and her accompanying delegation comes on the sidelines of her visit to the governorates of Luxor and Qena.
