The village of Dar Al-Salam in the Tamiya center in Fayoum Governorate witnessed many of the village’s streets and houses being flooded with sewage water as a result of the level of some houses and streets falling below the level of the drainage lines, which led to sewage overflowing and the houses drowning and filling with sewage.

Ahmed Eid, a resident of Dar Al Salam village in the Tamiya district of Tamiya Governorate, said Fayoumtold Cairo 24, that they submitted complaints to the head of the village’s local unit, the Tamiya City Council, and those responsible for the drinking water and sanitation company in attempts to pump out the water and find a solution to the constantly recurring problem.
He added that wastewater also caused the spread of mosquitoes and some insects inside homes, which may cause diseases and epidemics to be transmitted between residents.
In turn, Cairo 24 contacted the engineer responsible for sanitation at the Tamiya Center, who confirmed that there is great pressure on water use in the village, which caused some streets to be flooded with sewage, and a suction truck is being sent to suck out the water, and work is underway to address the problem.
