Engineer Ali Muhammad Bahnas, head of the center and city of Akhmim, continued the removal of waste and dust, and the removal of all obstacles, weeds and trees from the flood drains in the village of Al-Kula, and the flood drains in the village of Al-Issawiya, east of… Sohag.
Waste and dust were removed and obstacles were removed from the floodwaters in the village of Salamouni and the torrent canal in the village of Al-Hawaweesh. Equipment from Al-Kawthar neighborhood, Al-Hawaweesh village, and irrigation engineering were used to remove the obstacles and clear the outfalls.
The head of the center stressed the continuation of the work of clearing and removing waste from the flood drains, removing all obstacles therein, and ensuring their readiness, in anticipation of any climate changes.
This was within the framework of the directives of Major General Dr. Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, and his deputy, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hadi, regarding following up on clearing the flood outlets and ensuring their readiness in anticipation of the rain.

Major General Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, previously received Dr. Sayed Khalifa, General Captain of Agriculturalists and President of the African Union of Agricultural Engineers, during his visit to the governorate, in the presence of Engineer Mukhtar Allam, Head of the Agricultural Syndicate in Sohag.
The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation between the governorate and the union, and aspects of addressing the problems of farmers in Sohag, especially in providing agricultural fertilizers and supporting the agricultural sector and farmers. A number of issues related to the agricultural sector were also discussed, and the importance of supporting professional unions, as they are the legitimate representative of the groups working in the agricultural sector.
The head of the Agricultural Syndicate praised the governor’s vision and support for the activities of various professional unions, and presented the union’s shield to the governor of Sohag, in appreciation of his efforts in supporting the union’s role in improving the agricultural sector within the governorate, stressing the importance of communication and joint coordination between the union and the executive bodies to achieve a common vision for the advancement of the agricultural sector, which is one of the axes.
