Today, Saturday, the Matrouh Second Circuit Criminal Court sentenced Ahmed Fattouh, the Zamalek club player, to a one-year suspended sentence on charges of drug use, and the criminal case in the mistaken killing of the victim Ahmed Al-Sayed was dismissed after reconciliation with the victim’s family.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Counselor Amjad Al-Sayed Awad, President of the Court, and with the membership of Counselor Barakat Abdel Halim, Counselor Mohamed Abdel Samie Al-Ashmawy, Counselor Abdel-Jalil Mohamed Hammad, and Court Secretary Hassan Omar.
The Public Prosecution ordered the referral of the accused, Ahmed Mohamed Abu Al-Futouh, the Zamalek club player, to the competent criminal court. To try him for what he was accused of possessing the essence of narcotic hashish with the intention of using it, and for wrongly causing the death of the victim, Ahmed Al-Sayed, while he was driving a car under the influence of that drug and in a dangerous condition.
It was proven in the Public Prosecution’s investigations that the accused drove his car on a coastal road at an extremely high speed, exceeding the legally prescribed speed, under the influence of consuming narcotic cannabis essence. He collided with the victim as he crossed the road, and his body parts were scattered inside the car and on the sides of the road, resulting in his death.
For his part, the representative of the Public Prosecution said during the previous session of the trial of Ahmed Fattouh, the Zamalek player, on charges of manslaughter and driving a car under the influence of narcotic substances, that the Public Prosecution is decisively dealing with traffic crimes, out of concern for the lives of citizens, adding that despite this, the deaf, including those among them, do not hear the call. The accused, as a result, tore the victim’s body apart with his car as he drove at an insane speed.
The representative of the Public Prosecution continued during his case: The crime was intentional because the accused got into his car under the influence of hashish and drove it at an insane speed that led to him losing control in order to avoid the victim, as evidenced by the car stopping after the accident, and this is evidence that the accident was a crime.
