Tesla, the leader in the electric vehicle industry, said that it is recalling 2,400 Cybertruck pickup trucks in the United States of America for the sixth time, because the defective part may lead to a loss of power and increase the risk of a collision, in the sixth recall of Cybertrucks this year.
Tesla recalls 2,400 Cybertruck models
According to what Reuters reported, the company said Tesla In a filing to the National Fuel Research Commission, a fault in the driver’s inverter in Cybertrucks manufactured through July 30 could cause the vehicle to stop producing torque when the driver applies the accelerator, resulting in a loss of traction and increased risk of a crash.
Tesla will replace the recalled drive inverter with one equipped with an active component, as the automaker said it was aware of 5 warranty claims linked to the problem but was not aware of any accidents or injuries.
Starting around December 9, Tesla will replace the recalled driving inverter with a new component, and Tesla said it has been using the updated component in production since July 30.
Last month, the electric vehicle manufacturer explained that it was recalling more than 27,000 Cyber Trucks due to delayed rear-view camera images that could impair the driver’s vision and increase the risk of a collision.
Tesla issued a recall in April to fix an unstable throttle pad, and another recall in June over issues with windshield wipers and exterior trim.
After a two-year delay due to production and battery supply challenges, Tesla will begin deliveries of the future Cybertruck in 2023. The company has not revealed specific production or delivery numbers for the model.
The Blade Runner-inspired truck, which was launched to revitalize the company’s legacy lineup amid slowing growth in demand for electric vehicles, is under close scrutiny by investors due to significant development costs.
