On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at six in the evening, the Narratives Laboratory at the Library of Alexandria will organize a symposium to discuss the short story collection, Running in His Clothes Like a Blind Man, by the writer Hussein Abdel Rahim. It will be discussed by critics Dr. Shahad Hisham, Manal Al-Sharqawi, and Dr. Nader Rifai, and the meeting will be moderated by the writer Mounir Otaiba, founder and director of the Narratives Laboratory at the Library of Alexandria.
It is noteworthy that Hussein Abdel Rahim is an Egyptian novelist, storyteller, and filmmaker. Cultural editor of Sayidaty magazine. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism Department, and a Diploma in Art Criticism from the Academy of Arts. Free studies in scripting, directing, and actor animation at the Academy of Arts. His stories were published in all Arab and international periodicals, newspapers and magazines. Some of his stories have been translated into Chinese and French.
Examples from his collection of short stories, Al-Mughayb, were selected in: New Arabic Writing, Contemporary Models, published by the Moroccan Writers Union 2003. I studied some of his works at the Faculty of Arts, Fayoum University. He was chosen as part of the Encyclopedia of Modern and Contemporary Egyptian Literature issued by the Supreme Council of Culture. Work as a third assistant. He has published: Novels: A Horse-Drawn Carriage on the Windy Coast, Mischievous and Happy. Short story collections: Sunset Zoom in third person The Last Autumn by Issa Al-Dabbagh. In addition to the testimonies of love and war, a written biography and the desire to tell the story are the birth of writing, testimonies and visions. Honored at the 2024 Egyptian Writers Conference. He received the State Encouragement Award in Literature 2017 for his short story collection, Third Person.
