Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB), the largest private sector bank in Egypt, announced the launch of the Apple Pay service, which is one of the most secure and private services for payment transactions through merchants, applications, and via websites.
To complete a contactless payment process at merchants, customers press the side button twice and then place their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment points to complete purchase transactions safely, as they are authenticated using facial recognition technology (Face ID), or fingerprint (Touch). ID) or by entering the device’s passcode, in addition to the one-time security code. The new service is available at many points of sale, such as supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, retail stores and many other places.
Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad and Mac to make purchases quickly and easily through smart apps or merchant-supported websites without having to create accounts or enter card, shipping and billing information each time. Apple Pay makes it easy to pay for food and grocery delivery, online shopping, transportation, and parking, among other services.
The “Apple Pay” service is characterized by the highest levels of privacy and security, as the actual card numbers are not stored on the device or on “Apple” services, but rather a unique number is assigned to the device account, encrypted and stored securely in the “Secure Element”, which is a certified chip designed according to the highest standards. Industry standard and configured to securely store payment information on your device.
The “Apple Pay” service can be activated through the CIB Mobile Banking application or on the iPhone by opening the “Wallet” application, clicking on the “+” sign, then following the rest of the steps to add credit or direct debit cards. After adding the cards on any iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac, customers can use the service on the selected device, as well as benefit from all the rewards and benefits offered by CIB cards.
