The security services of the Qalyubia Security Directorate, in coordination with the General Department of Works Investigation and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Specialized Police Sector, were able to arrest the owner of a store selling “receivers” that were not authorized for circulation in the market and were designed to decode encrypted satellite channels in violation of the law.
Information was received from the General Administration for Investigation of Works and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Specialized Police Sector that the owner of a store selling “receiver” devices – located in the second Shubra Al-Kheima Police Department in Qalyubia Governorate – was prepared to decode encrypted satellite channels in violation of the law.
After codifying the procedures, the store owner was arrested in possession of (16 receivers equipped to decode satellite channels “without a license”).
When he was confronted, he admitted that he had committed the aforementioned violations with the intention of achieving financial gain. Legal measures were taken.
