The Qena Criminal Court sentenced two drug traffickers to 13 years and 9 months in prison and a fine of 150,000 pounds, on charges of possessing a quantity of shabu for the purpose of trafficking, and a knife, in the Qena Police Department.

The ruling was issued under the chairmanship of Counselor Mustafa Ahmed Abdel-Al, with the membership of Counsellors, Mohamed Omar Abdel-Gawad, Mohab Abdel-Hamid, and Bakr Yassin, and the secretariat of Salah Farrag.
The events of the case date back to August 7, 2024, when the investigating authorities charged the defendants, Rafi’ H.D.M., aged 25, and Tariq M.S.M., aged 17, with possession of a quantity of the narcotic shabu and a knife. .
Investigations revealed that a security force was able to arrest the two defendants in possession of 21 transparent bags containing the narcotic substance Shabu. The first defendant was found in possession of a white weapon and scissors, and the second defendant was found in possession of a white weapon.
Case No. 10408 of 2024, felonies, Qena Division, and registered under No. 4101 of 2024, Qena District, was referred to the Criminal Court, which ruled that the first accused be punished with 10 years of aggravated imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 pounds for the charge of trafficking in shabu, and 6 months and a fine of 1,000 pounds for the charge of possessing metal scissors. The second accused was sentenced to 3 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 pounds for the charge Trafficking in shabu, imprisonment for 3 months and a fine of 500 pounds for the charge of possession of a knife.
