Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, made an inspection tour of the industrial zone in the 10th of Ramadan City in Sharkia Governorate. The Minister began his tour by inspecting the ABB Electrical Industries factory, where the Minister was received at the factory by Andreas Baum, the Swiss Ambassador to Cairo, Hokan Amsjord, the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo, and Ahmed Hammad, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. During his tour, coordination was made with ABB Electrical Industries to allocate a training center from the centers of the Ministry’s Productive Efficiency and Vocational Training Authority to be under the supervision of the company to develop curricula and graduate graduates with the highest level of craftsmanship to meet the needs of the company’s factories. He directed that buses be provided to transport workers from the factory to the electric train stations. Light Rate (LRT) to facilitate the movement of workers to and from their workplace using safer and more comfortable means of transportation, which contributes to increasing productivity rates. The Minister went to inspect the factories of the Oriental Weavers Group, the leading textile industry, where he was received by Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of the Eastern Weavers, Yasmine Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oriental Weavers Carpets, and factory officials, where the Minister inspected the Farid Khamis Museum, the Glass Pyramid (the first loom ), Yarn Factory 1, CRM Carpet Factory, in addition to the developed warehouse.
It is worth noting that the Oriental Weavers Group is one of the largest international companies in the manufacture of textiles and carpets, with the area of the group’s factories exceeding one million square meters, and a production capacity of 150 million square meters annually. The company employs more than 19 thousand workers, and allocates about 65% of its production to export.
The Minister inspected the factory of the International Sanitary Ware Company “Jawad”, where he was received by Dan Munyuza, Rwanda’s Ambassador to Cairo, and Engineer/Mohamed Al-Sallab, a member of the House of Representatives. The Minister began his tour of the factory by inspecting the mold design line, the CNC lathe and screw operating line, the sanding and polishing line, and the The metal foundry, then the minister opened, cut a ribbon, and inspected the modern electroplating line. The factory is located on an area of 11,899 square meters, with a production capacity of 1.25 million pieces annually, and provides 150 job opportunities.
The Minister also inspected the Bavaria Industrial Complex, which specializes in the production of fire components and waste collection boxes of various capacities from engineering polymers for assembly in large cities for use in recycling, as well as the production of fire cabins and welded metal pipes in the production of fire extinguishing cabinets of various sizes, which is located on an area of 36 thousand square meters, where The number of workers in the factory is 856, and its annual sales volume is about 2.5 billion pounds. The minister inspected the factory that produces plastic waste bins by injection, and the production line. Welded sheet metal pipes, a production line for sheet metal and stainless steel cabins and surface treatment, and inspection of the automated warehouses for products and components, and the Bavaria Delta factory for the production of drinking water supply pipes and their accessories.
The Minister also confirmed during the tour that he had directed that the requirements for moving units on the metro lines include electrical products, control panels, civil defense and firefighting equipment and components, to be locally manufactured.
The Minister concluded his inspection tour by visiting the “Suwedy Pyramids” industrial complex for developing industrial areas, which is located on an area of one million square metres, and includes an industrial zone with 45 industrial facilities operating in multiple industries on an area of 500,000 square metres, and a logistics and commercial area on an area of 250,000 square metres. The Minister visited the Al-Suwaidi Meters Factory “Eskramco”, which is located on an area of 50,000 square metres, employs 500 people, and has a production capacity of 3 million meters. 50% of production is exported abroad.
