Fired Cairo University A comprehensive development convoy to the Mansheyet Al-Bakari area in the Al-Haram district in Giza Governorate, within the framework of the presidential initiative A New Beginning for Human Building, which comes under the generous patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
Supporting the state’s efforts to achieve sustainable development
The convoy included distinguished cadres in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, law, awareness and development service providers, and the environmental awareness team.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of Cairo University, said that the convoy comes within the framework of the university’s societal role and its active participation in presidential initiatives in cooperation with the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, Giza Governorate, the Decent Life Foundation, and the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, stressing that the university’s convoys bring goodness to the surrounding community. It is a role model for community giving, a contribution from the university to supporting the country’s efforts to achieve sustainable development.
The President of Cairo University explained that the convoy continued for a full day, during which it provided free medical, veterinary, awareness-raising and development services to more than 1,800 citizens.
The convoy included conducting medical examinations on the people of the region, providing them with free treatment, and transferring critical cases to university hospitals for the necessary surgeries.
The convoy included a number of medical specialties, including ophthalmology, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, nose, ear, and throat surgery, dermatology, and urology. It also included trained and equipped members of the nursing, dental, and physical therapy teams, with the assistance of elite professors from the faculties of dentistry, nursing, and physical therapy. .
The veterinary medicine team provided awareness and veterinary education services to the citizens of the region, which is characterized by its rural character. The team was also accompanied by a specialized faculty member in the rural meeting and effectively contributed to maximizing the benefit from agricultural extension fields, as nearly 100 citizens in the region benefited from it.
The awareness team also held several awareness and education seminars, including a seminar related to the dangers of illegal immigration, and another related to introducing the safe use of social media. More than 150 male and female students at Muhammad Salama Preparatory School benefited from these seminars.
Awareness of the dangers of early marriage was also held in the meeting room of the Family Club within the health unit in Manshiyet Al-Bakari, and approximately 120 girls and women from the area benefited from it.
To maximize the awareness and educational role, the College of Law participated with its distinguished professors and specialists in private law with the aim of enhancing the legal culture among citizens and informing them of their rights and duties. In this context, awareness seminars were held on the role of law as one of the tools of social control, and mini-symposiums were held at Muhammad Salama Preparatory School, and nearly 180 female students, and it was about the importance of education for women and the necessity of respecting school rules and regulations. A symposium was also held in the health center’s meeting room for women who attend the health center, and it addressed problems related to personal status issues and women’s rights, benefiting approximately 120 women from the region.
The team, which included an elite group of sociology and anthropology professors from the College of Arts and the College of Higher African Studies, and with the participation of the environmental awareness team from the College of Science, confronted those visiting the health center in Manshiyet al-Bakari, and approximately 350 individuals from the region’s citizens benefited from the awareness programs provided to them.
During a visit to Muhammad Salama Preparatory School, the Environmental Awareness Team simplified science for young people and promoted environmentally friendly consumption patterns, benefiting more than 300 male and female students at the school.
The university’s Volunteer House team participated in the comprehensive caravan activities through programs to raise awareness of the dangers of addiction and abuse, and approximately 350 individuals, including young men and women of both sexes, benefited from it.
